About the Researcher
Carlos D. Seward
 


Carlos D. Seward is currently a senior History major at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia. This webite has been orginally designed as part of the senior seminar/research course and for the digital history course offered by the History Department. As a fourth-year, undergraduate student, he has worked closely with the Race, Time, and Place Research Project, Portsmouth Public Library, African American Historical Society of Portsmouth, and the special collections and archives of Norfolk State University, Old Dominion University, and the College of William and Mary.

Carlos is very active in the university community as well. He serves on three university administrative committees, a peer tutor, a member of the university players (theatre group), co-captain of the university's Honda Campus All-Star Team and senior class president. Upon graduation in May 2004, Carlos desires to earn a masters degree in History and a Ph.D. degree in Higher Education Administration.. His career goals include becoming a high school History teacher, a university professor, moving into university administration; eventually becoming a university provost and then becoming a university president
